IT Product Owner I MXT Tyson Foods is looking for an IT Product Owner I to collaborate closely with experienced product owners and cross‑functional teams to gain hands‑on experience in understanding the voice of the customer and product management methodologies. The role involves translating requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria, participating in sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and daily stand‑ups, and guiding the team to deliver high‑quality, customer‑centric solutions on time and within budget. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Requirements Gathering: Learn and observe how to work closely with stakeholders, including customers, sales, marketing, and engineering teams, to gather and prioritize product requirements. Product Planning: Assist in creating and maintaining the product roadmap, defining features, and release timelines based on business objectives and user needs. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including design, engineering, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment and execution of product initiatives. Feature Prioritization: Prioritize features and enhancements based on impact on user experience, business value, and technical feasibility. Project Coordination: Coordinate project activities, tasks, and timelines, ensuring milestones are met and deliverables are completed on time and within scope. Documentation: Create and maintain product documentation, including user stories, feature specifications, and release notes, to communicate requirements and updates to stakeholders. Testing and Validation: Observe and learn how user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation of product features work to ensure they meet quality standards and user expectations. Performance Monitoring: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure product performance and success. Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities for improvement, gathering feedback from users and stakeholders to iterate on product features and enhance the overall user experience. Learning and Development: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in product management, seeking learning opportunities to grow in the role. Customer Support: Provide support to customer‑facing teams, including responding to customer inquiries, addressing product‑related issues, and assisting with customer training and onboarding. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with product management peers and other team members, sharing knowledge, insights, and best practices to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. Perform other assigned job‑related duties that align with our organization’s vision, mission, and values and fall within your scope of practice. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience. Preferred Certification(s): Any relevant IT Certification on Computer Science. Experience: Less than one year of relevant or practical experience. Special Skills Communication: Effective communication, able to present to team and management. Learning: Self‑motivated and willing to learn new technologies and adapt to change. Methodology: Foundational knowledge of Agile Product and Waterfall methodology. Decision‑Making: Value‑based decision‑making. Problem‑solving: Analytical skills for diagnosing and solving issues. Organization: Managing time, prioritizing tasks, and handling responsibilities.
