Lead Frontend Developer

Plan A Technologies is looking for a highly skilled Senior Lead Frontend Developer with strong Unity expertise to guide our team in building engaging high-performance social gaming experiences. This is a hands‑on implementation role and will oversee frontend engineering, mentor developers, and collaborate closely with product, art, and backend teams to innovative gaming experiences. The ideal candidate is both a technical expert and a natural leader — someone who enjoys coaching others, setting standards, and ensuring the quality and performance of our games as well as rolling up their sleeves. Please note: you must have at least 10+ years of experience with Unity to be considered for this role and 4+ years leading teams JOB RESPONSIBILITY Lead and mentor a team of Unity frontend developers, providing guidance, feedback, and support. Establish coding standards, best practices, and development workflows for the Unity team. Drive architectural decisions for game features, UI, game flow, and performance optimization. Review code and ensure overall code quality and maintainability. Develop and maintain core gameplay features, UI components, animations, and interactions using Unity and C#. Ensure smooth game performance across devices and platforms. Work closely with designers and artists to integrate assets and deliver polished, visually cohesive experiences. Optimize games for memory usage, loading times, and frame rate stability. Work with the Game Producer to translate requirements into technical plans. Partner with QA to guarantee stable releases and high‑quality player experiences. Coordinate with backend/DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration of game logic, APIs, and services. Ensure games comply with any industry standards and certification requirements. EXPERIENCE Strong expertise in Unity and C#. Experience leading teams: ability to guide, motivate, and grow a development team. Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Strong ownership mindset, with the ability to make architectural decisions and defend them. Experience managing priorities, timelines, and delivery expectations. Experience building real‑money casino games, or similar highly animated interactive games. Deep knowledge of game performance optimization, asset management, and UI frameworks. Experience integrating games with APIs, backend services, or platform SDKs. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Previous experience working with distributed teams. Have solid written and verbal English skills. Ability to maintain a positive work attitude. Initiative and drive to do great things. Nice‑to‑Have Experience with mobile optimization (iOS/Android). Familiarity with shader development, animations, or VFX inside Unity. Understanding of build pipelines, CI/CD, and version control best practices.
