Administrative Assistant – Head of Purchasing Glanbia Mexico (Head of Purchasing) Glanbia operates across Latin America, supporting customers on proteins, plant‑based solutions, beverages, premixes, bioactives, and flavors. The LATAM team focuses on functional gummies, immunity, plant‑based dairy alternatives, sports nutrition, and textured beverages, working closely with R&D, formulation, and events across the region. Responsibilities Consult Glanbia Nutritionals’ price list for each required material before issuing purchase orders, comparing with the Sales department’s quotation and the customer’s purchase order; notify Sales of any discrepancies. Place purchase orders to Glanbia Nutritionals and WATSON for any product in their portfolio based on orders received from Sales, ensuring Glanbia remains the sole supplier of commercialized materials. Coordinate with Sales on materials needed to be stocked in Glanbia S.A. de C.V.’s warehouse. Purchase office supplies, packaging materials, and other items required for each department’s activities. Evaluate and select suppliers of supplies and services, ensuring the best cost‑quality decision for the company. Maintain at least two current supplier alternatives for commodities and services to support purchasing decisions. Monitor progress of supplier orders, enforce delivery schedules, and communicate delays or shortages to relevant departments and customers. Coordinate with logistics on shipments from USA plants to the Mexican border for materials from Glanbia Nutritionals. Collect supplier invoices weekly for payment approval by Commercial Management. Notify the Finance department of tax amounts and other expenses for each importation, ensuring timely resource allocation and communication with Logistics. Process quality deviation or damage reports from Logistics, initiating follow‑up with Glanbia Nutritionals to secure returns or credit notes. Implement corrective actions with suppliers when deviations occur. Track backorders for purchase orders with Glanbia Nutritionals and update relevant departments weekly. Generate and maintain tariff classification reports for all imported raw materials commercialized by Glanbia S.A. de C.V. Consult with a customs classification expert when necessary to ensure accurate product classification. Skills & Knowledge Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in Purchasing and Supplier Management, preferably in a related industry. Fluent in English and Spanish. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), including clear and persuasive speaking. Professional interaction with all staff levels, clients, and suppliers. Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to manage multiple, rapidly changing priorities. Maintains a positive, calm attitude in difficult situations. Results‑oriented, focused on team objectives. Works effectively with minimal supervision while remaining productive. Team‑oriented with strong problem‑solving skills.
