Company DescriptionCevians is an International manufacturer of optical filters and displays and has grown to be an industry leader in the design and development of ruggedized and custom AMLCD display solutions for industrial, military and commercial aerospace markets.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and promote a culture of best-in-class performance, employee involvement, and continual improvement.We are committed to furthering growth and learning in the workplace and to recognizing individuals and their contributions.We believe our team performs better as a result of diversity and we provide an environment that cultivates integrity and respect.Join our team todayJob DescriptionUnder the Director of Engineering, the electrical engineer will work within a multidisciplinary team for the development and production of custom displays and related products.You will perform hands-on development of new designs during the development phases along with other related activities such as prototype follow-ups, verification tests, troubleshooting, test setups, qualification testing, documentations, etc. The electrical engineer will also participate to elaborate design processes, test strategies and new technologies in-line with the Business Unit product roadmap.You will also provide hardware support for product introduction to manufacturing and support to on-going production.Job DutiesDesign and document electronics for the Displays business unitDefine hardware architectures, design and develop electronic circuit design and PCB layouts, develop appropriate design verification and validation approaches and perform the design verification activitiesGenerate or modify VHDL code for custom functionality of FPGAGenerate or modify C code for embedded microcontroller based circuitsProvide technical solutions for the selection of electronic components for new and existing productsDesign and document electronic test environment for the Display BUWork with suppliers and provide technical guidance to manufacture circuit assembliesIdentify and resolve hardware issues with component obsolescence and manufacturability of display products components;Build prototype parts, cables, and test fixturesCreate technical documentation and users manualsAssign part numbers for drawings, documents and generate Bill of Materials (BOMs)Prepare, incorporate and process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)Support and troubleshoot complex RMA failure modesCarry out analyses, validations / verifications test and follow-up of prototypesWork in collaboration with a team of multidisciplinary professionalsTechnical assistance to marketing (technical solution, discussions with external customers, demo units, etc )Provide support to New Product Introduction (NPI) and ProductionParticipate in R&D development projectsQualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering;Minimum of ten (10) years of experience;Design of analog / digital circuits, power supply, microcontrollers, debugging tools and LCD displays (characters / graphics, monochrome / color);Experience in analyzing safety and reliability requirements;Ability to use basic electronic test equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.AssetFPGA (VHDL), \"C\" programming languageFamiliar with the development of Operating Systems and embedded softwareC / C++ Programming Language; experience with Python is a plusAbility to solder and use prototyping toolsExperience with Mentor PADS Schematic and Layout software a plusProcesses for avionics certification like DO-254 HW development and DO-178 SW developmentBackground of military & Aerospace standards with direct experience to meet RTCA / DO-160 Environmental Testing, MIL-TSD-810 and MIL-STD-461 and military standardsEffective written / verbal communication skills; computing skills (Windows, Microsoft Office)Additional InformationThis position will train in our Montreal Canada office 2 weeks at a time for the first 6 months; then continued travel approximately 3x per year.Our Corporate Headquarters are in Costa Mesa, California, U.S. #J-18808-Ljbffr
