HVAC Service Estimator

We are a commercial and industrial HVAC-R and plumbing company with a long-standing reputation for quality, safety, and reliability. Due to rapid growth and increased service volume, the company is expanding its estimating team by adding a remote HVAC-R Service Estimator based in Latin America.This role supports a union service operation by developing accurate, competitive estimates for HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, and Pipefitting repairs and small projects. The estimator works closely with service managers, dispatch, field technicians, and internal partners to ensure all estimates reflect real-world service conditions and proper standards of safety and compliance.This will be the company’s first remote hire, so reliability, organization, and strong communication are essential.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed cost estimates for service repairs and preventative maintenance agreementsReview technician notes, recommendations, and customer requests to develop clear scopes of workCoordinate with other service estimators, service managers, and field technicians to confirm labor hours and materialsSolicit and evaluate vendor pricing for equipment, parts, rentals, and subcontracted services through phone calls, email, and vendor websitesPrepare professional proposals including scope, assumptions, clarifications, and exclusionsAssist with value-engineering options while maintaining reliability, code compliance, and safety standardsUpon proposal approval, execute purchases with vendors, coordinate deliveries, and transfer details to other members of the ops team through softwareParticipate in coordination meetings to ensure smooth handoff from estimate to service executionMaintain estimating databases, pricing tools, and historical cost recordsSupport safety, quality, and customer satisfaction standards consistent with union HVAC-R service operationsMust-Have Qualifications3+ years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC-R service estimatingWorking knowledge of HVAC-R service operations, troubleshooting, and repair practicesAbility to read and interpret service reports, equipment schedules, and technical drawingsProficiency with estimating tools, proposal preparation, and material sourcingAbility to communicate technical information clearly and professionally in English, verbally and in writingHighly organized, detail-driven, and responsiveComfortable working remotely with time-tracking tools (e.g., Time Doctor)Nice-to-Have QualificationsExperience in a union HVAC-R environmentAssociate degree or technical trainingAbility to clearly explain technical solutions to internal teams and customersExperience supporting long-term service agreementsExperience, and/or Certifications in software to include ServiceTrade, HubSpot, ExcelOtherInformationFull-time, long-term roleStandard remote schedule aligned with U.S. hoursPaid directly by the company (no payroll intermediary)14 days total leave per year + 7 majorU.S. holidaysGrowth: Opportunity to expand with the company as estimating volume increases U.S. equal opportunity employment standards apply across all hiring and selection processes #J-18808-Ljbffr
