Senior Tax Specialist (LACAR) - Location: Mexico City (Hybrid)At Alcon, we are driven by the meaningful work we do to help people see brilliantly.As the global leader in eye care, we innovate boldly, act with speed, and champion progress.Here, you'll be recognized for your contributions, foster an inclusive environment, and see your career grow within a supportive, international team.Role OverviewThe Tax Senior Specialist is responsible for overseeing all tax-related activities, including direct, indirect, transfer pricing, and legal tax compliance for Alcon's Legal Entities within the LACAR region. This role ensures compliance with local tax laws and international standards (OECD/BEPS), mitigates tax risks, provides expert tax advice, and ensures high-quality tax accounting and reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and prepare the tax reporting package, ensuring compliance with Alcon Manual of Accounting (IFRS) and global tax requirements for the LACAR region.Oversee tax compliance matters, including indirect taxes, corporate income tax, withholding taxes, stamp duties, capital gains taxes, and transfer pricing.Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure alignment with local tax laws and prepare transfer pricing requirements for LATAM countries.Serve as the main point of contact (SPOC) for internal departments and external tax advisors, ensuring adherence to local tax regulations and deadlines.Lead responses to tax authorities, manage legal tax processes, and prepare tax reconciliations.Liaise with internal and external auditors on tax matters, resolving disputes and implementing corrective actions as needed.Ensure all tax processes, policies, and controls are fully defined and documented, supporting SOX certification and other compliance requirements.Identify and mitigate tax risks through proactive monitoring and reporting.QualificationsUniversity degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced degree in Tax or Accounting preferred.5+ years of experience in tax, with a solid background in tax compliance and tax accounting.Experience working with multinational corporations, preferably within the medical or pharmaceutical industry.Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/ORACLE) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a matrixed, multinational organization.What You'll Thrive AtOpportunity to grow within a stable, global company.
