It includes visual territory design, predictive intelligence and collaborative quota allocation workflows. The Team As a Software Developer Engineer in Test II on the Sales Planning team, you will join a remote, cross‑functional team of designers, product managers and software engineers. You’ll enhance a modern SaaS product: a React single‑page web app powered by GraphQL and a serverless AWS backend. What You’ll Do Lead technical test automation efforts and coach non‑technical team members. Drive functional and non‑functional test automation across projects and programs. Manage project test activities in alignment with internal Quality Engineering practices. Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high‑quality, testable code. Support roadmap items and deployment test automation efforts. What You Bring Technical Skills Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience. 2+ years’ experience written in Python or JavaScript. Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Cucumber, Pytest, Playwright, Locust or other Python frameworks. Proven ability to develop internal tools. Solid understanding of CI/CD, containers and test infrastructure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; B2 level English or higher required. Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams. Nice to Have Intermediate SQL skills for complex queries on large datasets. Performance load‑testing experience, including test result analysis and resource monitoring. Experience with cloud‑based and local databases (AWS RDS, Oracle, Postgres). First 30 Days: Getting Started Onboarding and Familiarization Gain a comprehensive understanding of Varicent’s Sales Planning software, culture, mission and goals. Familiarize yourself with the current testing infrastructure, tools, frameworks and processes. Review ongoing projects and understand testing requirements and priorities. Establish Technical Proficiency Set up your development and testing environment, ensuring all tools, accounts and access permissions are ready. Review and analyze existing automated test cases, scripts and frameworks to identify potential enhancements. Build Relationships and Network Meet the Quality Engineering, Development and Product teams to understand product features and expected testing standards. Collaborate with teammates to align on expectations, timelines and key deliverables. Early Contributions Conduct initial code reviews and provide constructive feedback. Contribute to small testing efforts such as debugging or updating automation scripts. First 60 Days: Building Momentum Drive Test Automation Enhancements Lead technical test automation initiatives within assigned projects or programs. Implement improvements or fixes in existing automation frameworks to optimize test efficiency. Expand Test Coverage Write and execute new functional and non‑functional automated test scripts for untested or under‑tested areas. Collaborate with other engineers to identify high‑priority scenarios and ensure their automation. Support CI/CD Initiatives Contribute to CI and deployment pipelines, integrating new features with minimal disruptions. Work closely with DevOps and QA teams to resolve test infrastructure dependencies. Documentation and Communication Document newly introduced test automation processes, guidelines and best practices. Communicate progress, challenges and successes in team meetings or cross‑functional updates. First 90 Days: Hitting Your Stride Technical Ownership and Coaching Take ownership of quality assurance and automation tasks across multiple projects. Mentor non‑technical team members in automating routine QA processes. Develop Tools Build internal tools to enhance test capabilities or streamline quality engineering operations. Performance Testing Focus Implement and analyze performance and load tests to identify bottlenecks. Provide recommendations and solutions for optimization based on performance metrics. Collaboration and Long‑Term Strategies Work closely with leaders to align automation efforts with product roadmaps and development goals. Identify tools or platforms to enhance the effectiveness and scalability of tests. Continuous Improvement and Standardization Establish a baseline for automation coverage and effectiveness, and propose ongoing improvements. Drive a culture of quality and continuous integration within the team. Note This role requires employees to work within Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours. If you are from outside the EST time zone, you must adjust your working hours to align with this zone. This position is fully remote.
