OverviewManager, Engineering - Thermal at Vertiv. The role is to manage customer-specified product projects requiring modification of standard products in the R&D and Engineering Department. The position is responsible and accountable for the coordinated management of a project across cross-functional groups toward strategic business and organizational objectives. The role has a heavy operational element including component selections, thermodynamic designs, conceptual layouts, etc. Projects include modifying chilled water, direct expansion, and liquid cooling products.ResponsibilitiesLead a multi-disciplinary, multi-country engineering team managing many quick projects simultaneously.Develop reporting and tracking programs to assure the team activities are on target for schedule and cost.Identify key issues and drive decisions to ensure that the projects do not slip. Identify and resolve risks/issues quickly.Communicate with other managers, upper management, or outside vendors and other plants, as required.Responsible that the project is following the Special Feature Enhancements process.Facilitate cross-functional planning and project execution.Deliver a fast and customer focused response on “engineered to order complex” (ETO-C) projects, where a new solution is based on an existing and well proven platform.Lead the re-engineering of existing products, collaborating with Sales, Procurement and Industrial Engineering, and be aware of the customer’s needs.Approve and review product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of materials).Meet objectives of cost, quality, environment and time of execution.Analyze and resolve technical problems as regards products under responsibility.QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Thermal, or Electrical).At least 5 years of previous experience on similar projects, with experience as a supervisor or manager of people.Good knowledge of thermodynamics and refrigeration principles.Knowledge of thermodynamics, physics, engineering and manufacturing processes.English – Intermediate level – written and spoken.A high level of motivation combined with leadership abilities.Knowledge of technical norms and standards.Competences: result-oriented, team player, careful to details, flexible.Physical & Environmental RequirementsNoneTime Travel NeededUp to 20%Availability to travel on request between the Westerville (OH USA), Monterrey (MX) and Pune (India) locationsVertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors: Safety, Integrity, Respect, Teamwork, Diversity & Inclusion.
