Compensation: Starting / Initial Base Salary Pay Range: 600,000 - 785.000 MXN Specific offers within the listed pay ranges are determined by a variety of factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and business needs. Responsibilities Responsible for fiber optics network field activity, Long haul and metro, Transport and Routers Implementation of long haul and metro network augmentation, coordination and installation Turn-up and test new customer connections and circuits Work with Network Planning and Service Delivery teams to provide Field perspective to network deployment as well as to provide expertise in deployments. Organize projects with contractors and internal staff Traveling within Mexico is required as well as full time availability Qualifications Working knowledge of network architectures and telecom infrastructure including fiber networks. 5+ years’ experience on telecommunication networks Working knowledge on telecom infrastructure Field experience with install and turn-up DWDM and IP networks Experience in the use of optical test equipment: power meters, OTDRs, OSAs, and interpretation of test results Problem solving and troubleshooting skills High-energy individual with interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate peers, and drive project to completion Engineer/Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications or related field, or incomplete degree, equivalent experience, certifications, or training To apply for the Field Engineer position, please submit your resume and cover letter to careers@cogentco.com.
