About the Client Our client is a rapidly expanding holding company that focuses on incubating and acquiring digital media, SaaS, and professional services businesses. They are looking to bring on board a Staff Accountant / Finance Lead who will play a key role in managing the day‑to‑day accounting functions for multiple portfolio businesses, ensuring smooth financial operations, and providing strategic support as they scale. This is a confidential client with a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. About the Role This is a hands‑on role that will report directly to the founder and support several portfolio companies. The individual in this position will be responsible for managing day‑to‑day accounting functions across multiple entities, ensuring compliance, and helping to build scalable financial systems. The role offers clear growth opportunities into more senior financial leadership positions, including strategic financial planning, forecasting, and mergers & acquisitions (M&A). Key Responsibilities Accounting & Bookkeeping: Own day‑to‑day bookkeeping across multiple entities. Manage Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable, ensuring accurate and tax‑ready financial records. Multi‑Entity Financial Management: Support multiple portfolio companies simultaneously, track revenue across subscription‑based and project‑based models, monitor cash flow, and track deferred revenue and open obligations (e.g., prepaid project work). Compliance & Financial Operations: Act as the internal point person for compliance‑related tracking (state/country filings, deadlines, documentation), and coordinate with external accountants and advisors. Systems & Tools: Work with Mercury for banking, invoicing, and payments; use and help standardize QuickBooks across entities; support Stripe integrations; help improve financial processes and reporting structure. Requirements Must‑Haves 4‑6 years of experience in accounting or finance. Strong hands‑on accounting skills and comfortable with day‑to‑day accounting tasks. Experience managing multiple companies or clients, particularly in a multi‑entity environment or within an accounting firm. Experience with service‑based businesses, familiarity with recurring revenue, project‑based billing, and deferred revenue concepts. Highly organized, proactive, and able to operate independently in a fast‑moving environment. Experience with U.S.-based companies, including compliance/tax filings across different states. Advanced English proficiency. Nice‑to‑Haves Experience or interest in strategic financial planning, forecasting, and M&A. Exposure to SaaS and media industries is a plus. Compensation Salary range: $2,000–$3,500 USD per month, depending on experience and seniority. Benefits and Work Modality 100% remote work as a contractor.
