Forvia, a sustainable mobility technology leaderWe pioneer technology for mobility experience that matter to people.Your mission, roles and responsibilitiesOverall responsibilities and duties:The Buyer is responsible to develop and manage the supplier panel for a specific commodity segment, selecting suppliers according to Faurecia group criteria, apply purchasing policy, and develop suppliers to continuously improve QCD performance. The Buyer identifies and leads ideas and initiatives in order to improve the global productivity and achieve or surpass financial objectives. Additional responsibilities of the buyer are:Improve financial performance of the Division through supplier negotiations, resourcing and productivity actionsMonitor supplier Quality, Cost and Delivery performance and challenge supplier when supplier is falling short of targetsThe main responsibilities of the role are:Develop and execute segment Commodity Strategy;Define and lead activities aligned to Commodity StrategyResponsible for delivering purchasing budget, updating forecast, reporting monthly savingsSupport Program Buyers with sourcing of new segments and supplier Panel definitionPursue optimally economical costs for goods/services required, in conjunction with obtaining continual long term agreement savings opportunitiesPerforms continual review and evaluation of the current supply base and also new potential suppliers through cross-functional supplier audits/visits based on the criteria provided by GroupFacilitate continuous improvement activities with the supply base to support VA/VE savings opportunitiesECR/EO activity – obtain quotes for engineering changes, understand and challenge supply base assumptionsLead supplier VA/VE activity and participate in lean manufacturing workshopsProgress savings from inception through to implementationConduct management meetings to review and improve supplier performanceManage and understand supplier´s tool life and monitor/secure capacityOther duties and specific projects as identified to support commercial targets and supplier optimization ▪ Identify savings, update forecast file and follow through to completion. Take ownership and responsibility for actions under buyer, lead activityIdentify savings at month end and cross-reference against productivity file to confirm completion.Report savings each month to Manager and confirm with Controller that they are captured.Charge Back validation costs via QSS database for poor quality and delivery performance.Follow supplier debits from forecast to debit memo to receipt of cashCalculate retroactive debits/credits for late identified savings, ensure they are captured at month end, follow through to cash receipt or debit execution.Hold monthly supplier management reviews to identify savings gaps, get up to speed on quality issues, communicate FAS intentions, understand supplier glide path to target etc.Interface between department and plant or Commercial Business Unit.Issue PO for approval for changes required/authorizedIn event of supplier disruption to plant (quality or delivery), understand root cause/scope of issue and facilitate supplier interaction to help resolve issueMonitors of the Supplier Global Performance Measurement in terms of quality and service of the cost via the SBG reporting structuresFollows market trends for specific commodities and raw materialsPrepares and deploys Commodity Strategies & Cost Models for various commoditiesUnderstand all cost break-downs and challenge supply base accordingly to ensure cost is optimizedHave the ability to fully understand cost models and be able to provide input towards generating a cost modelYour profile and competencies to succeedMinimum education level: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field.Experience:3 years in automotive industry3 years in purchasing functionsSAP experience (preferred)Skills & Competencies:Must have very good Excel and Word skillsStrong communication skillsAble to accommodate ~15% - 20% travel (domestic & international)Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of ManagementTeam PlayerWhat we can do for youAt Forvia, you will find an engaging and dynamic environment where you can contribute to the development of sustainable mobility leading technologies.
