What you'll do

  • Design Resource:
    • Lead or support product improvement projects, from component design to manufacturing review.
    • Address urgent and chronic design quality issues effectively.
  • 3rd Party Fabrication Liaison:
    • Audit and improve fabrication processes with third-party suppliers.
    • Resolve design and process issues impacting production.
  • Cost Reductions:
    • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through design and process enhancements.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to reduce scrap and labor costs.
  • Product Support:
    • Assist various teams using your technical knowledge.
    • Update documentation and drive product quality improvements.

Travel required: 50% within the US & Mexico.

Who you are

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and wood working equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and SolidWorks PDM is a bonus.
  • Fluent in English with engineering terminology proficiency.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Expertise in plastics molding, extrusions, wood working, and mechanical engineering.
  • Proficient in Root Cause Analysis, Lean Methodology, and product development.
  • Skilled in CAD software, metrology instruments, and spatial reasoning.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data and work independently.
