Brazil AP Manager

Which is the main objective of this role?


Lead the AP activities for Brazil at the LATAM SSC in Mexico to ensure that services are provided according to signed Service Level Agreement, while short and long term strategies are in place as well as the right governance.

Make sure operation is performed under a very good control environment and looking for continuous improvement to reach productivity

What will you be doing?

  • Develop the team and grow them, through coaching, constructive feedback, and ensuring team participation in pertinent training courses and projects.
  • Manage, develop and implement projects that helps to the business to generate productivity, streamline processes and reduce the cost.
  • Asure all the AP Governance information is upgrated in ordert to be aligned effectiveness with GCS.
  • Engage in constant communication with BU and other internal/external clients to discuss and resolve business issues.
  • Manage AP Coordinators and Analysts to ensure the team is aware to achive of their roles, activities and responsibilities adheres to Pepsico policies and procedures, and provide guidance to team on AP accounting matters and employ conflict resolution techniques as needed.
  • Set guidelines and optimize AP processes when needed to deliver topgrade client service while complying with company policies (payment dates, invoice submittal cutoff dates, how information is received/sent, among other key process aspects) and supervise team during monthend close and ensure activities are completed on time.
  • Responsible for the execution of SOX internal controls; controls testing, active participation in the periodic review of key controls; ensuring their operational effectiveness; maintenance of Test Script documentation; quarterly certification according to Compliance policies and procedures; and participation and contribution during the review and maintenance of the Risk Control Matrix. More specifically, internal controls related to the position.
  • Generate culture of customer service and confidence within team.
  • Validate vendor setup in AP modules has been correctly performed (only applicable to countries with AP modules) Create awareness in AP team about proper risk mitigation techniques and ensure all vendor invoices are properly authorized and corroborated.
  • Establish and distribute vendor invoice payment calendars by country to stakeholders and asure all payments are rellieased on time.
  • Report monthly Scorecard KPIs to participate on montly Commitess and follow up open items. Preparation and presentation of information and reports for internal/external audit purposes in accordance with specific auditor requirements.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related majors.
  • At least 10 years of experience working in AP related positions.
  • Previous experience in supervisory or managerial roles is essential, preferably in AP departments.
  • Knowledge of English 80% (reading, writing, conversational); knowledge of Portuguese is desirable.
  • Negotiation skills are required in order to tackle complex business issues with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Extremely proactive individual with a gogetter attitude that is not afraid to confront and probe fellow employees/Bus.
