Job Title: Procurement Coordinator at AECOM México.

Job Description:

  • Collaborate with the Client's Purchasing Department to ensure all contracts and purchase orders are placed in a timely manner.
  • Act as the link between Equipment and Materials Suppliers (Manufacturers, General Contractors, or Subcontractors) and the Client's Purchasing Department once contracts and orders are placed.
  • Establish and maintain communication with Equipment and Materials Suppliers to ensure contracts and purchase orders are clear in terms of technical and commercial aspects, ensuring supplies are complete, timely, with the required quality and specifications, and without any issues.
  • Ensure all equipment and materials supply plans/programs from Client's Suppliers are aligned with construction schedules.
  • Monitor Suppliers' supply programs, ensuring they have the capacity and a manufacturing plan, purchase orders of materials and/or corresponding subcomponents with their respective suppliers.
  • Special focus on "long lead items" (LLI), ensuring Purchase Orders and contracts are made with the required lead time to avoid jeopardizing the Construction plan.
  • Monitor the proper storage of received equipment and materials on-site.
  • Monitor Suppliers' performance in terms of supply and storage to ensure compliance with contractual conditions and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Assist in supervising the approved construction program and updating it if necessary. Ensure that the General Contractor, subcontractors, and Client's Suppliers comply with national regulations and adhere to applicable international standards.
  • Collaborate in identifying different change orders that may arise from goods or services contracted by the client, whether in terms of time and/or cost, documenting and monitoring them.
  • Immediately inform Management of any risks identified in monitoring Suppliers' supply plans regarding material and equipment supply in terms of timely delivery, quality, required specifications, and requested quantities.
  • Collaborate with AECOM's Construction Management group and the client to integrate budget planning and cost monitoring in the procurement activities of goods and services contracted by the Client, the General Contractor, and subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain a reporting system to monitor and provide regular updates on the status of acquisitions made by the client and its General Contractor, as well as the impact on the construction project.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical regulations in all procurement activities of goods and services acquired by the Client, the General Contractor, and Subcontractors.
  • Promote sustainable and ethical practices in the supply of inputs, goods, and services purchased by the Client, General Contractor, and subcontractors.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, or related fields + 4 years of demonstrated experience and/or education.

Experience:

  • Experience in procurement applicable to the construction industry.
  • Negotiation, supplier database management, customs law, credit institution law, commercial company law, construction processes, and bond management.

Preferences:

  • 7 years of project management experience.
  • Proficiency in English desirable.
