Perform and Lead sustaining activities, design engineering, procedures, department improvements and problem-solving activities on new and existing products of the assigned product platforms.
Leads design engineering projects as an integral part of the development and manufacturing teams for NPD and on-going engineering support to address customer satisfaction, improve manufacturing costs, reliability and RTY with emphasis on mechanical product.
- Responsible for evaluating existing product related to design, manufacturing, customer complaints, quality deficiencies and performance issues and develop creative solutions.
- Responsible to improve current designs by reducing cost, improving producibility, quality, testability, increasing robustness and improving reliability.
- Lead and participate in new product development and Product transfers activities, such as testing, documentation, releases to Manufacturing and in the introduction of new processes and technologies.
- Lead Product Engineering Changes, qualifying and implementing changes, and closing with the Product Change Review Board notification and approval.
- Generate product portfolio and identify opportunities for cost reduction and manufacturing standardization and engage Quality and Process Engineering to implement.
- Applies statistical methods for data collection, analysis and problem solving.
- Participate in innovation forums, summits, projects & provide sustainable proposals from existing products & technologies, as well as trendy apps.
- Coordinate assessments over materials properties and behavior for manufacturing processes.
- Lead design engineering projects of the platforms assigned.
- Participate in the development of procedures and tool improvements for engineering department.
