Mechanical Sustaining Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical support to internal Vertiv functions
  • Understands the products and shares ideas for improvements
  • Collaborates with various engineering disciplines and teams for design reviews, cost metrics, and addressing customer issues
  • Creates and modifies mechanical parts, assemblies, and drawings in CAD systems like Creo and/or Solid Edge
  • Develops and maintains Bill of Materials using product lifecycle management tools
  • Submits engineering change orders in Oracle PLM for design alterations
  • Conducts engineering calculations to ensure design requirements are met
  • Identifies cost reduction opportunities and contributes to cost-saving initiatives
  • Implements product changes to resolve field issues and support the service department
  • Coordinates with junior engineers, particularly during the change request process

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Thermal or Mechanical Engineering or related field

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in engineering product development or support
  • Ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably CREO or similar
  • Experience with sheet metal, piping, and assemblies is advantageous
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts and safety
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a logical problem-solving approach
  • Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in English language
