NEW PRODUCT QUALITY ENGINEER I

Job Description:

The New Product Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality is designed into Automotive products during the development process.

The New Product Quality Engineer will ensure requirements compliance and traceability and will lead and facilitate risk management activities working closely with Engineering Project Managers.

The New Product Quality Engineer is also responsible for facilitating structured problem solving for design related issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct DFMEA working sessions with a multidisciplinary team to identify and address potential design flaws that could affect product quality.
  • Conduct risk assessment sessions to identify potential risks or challenges that could impact the quality or timeline of the project.
  • Assist with product design readiness activities for validation testing.
  • Assist with the investigation and resolution of quality issues during development.
  • Support efforts to ensure that new products comply with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Required skills and experience:

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global team environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong time management skills
  • Willing and able to travel (approx. 10%)
Preferred skills and experience

  • Familiarity with risk management practices and tools
  • Familiarity with statistical tools
  • Familiarity with the 8D structured problemsolving methodology.
  • Familiarity with the Automotive Industry
Education and Language requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Software Engineering
  • Must be fluent in both Spanish and English. Strong capability with English language (verbal and written) to allow effective communication directly with staff at R&D, suppliers, and customers (highly technical discussions)
