As a Senior Cost Accountant in our team, you will play a crucial role in our global Finance department. Your main task will be to provide precise and timely cost reports by analyzing financial data from our eight manufacturing facilities worldwide. The goal is to optimize business decisions and drive cost savings. Come on board and help us shape financial strategies that ensure profitability for Appleton Group and Emerson.

This position is located at the largest manufacturing facility of Appleton Group in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Reporting to our Cost Accounting Leader with the support of our Controller.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Contributing to the creation and upkeep of annual standard costs for all products. Assisting in month-end tasks like inventory reconciliation, journal entries, and investigating plant discrepancies. Conducting monthly variance analysis on costs of goods sold, raw materials, labor, and overhead accounts. Analyzing manufacturing costs and generating regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Overseeing the annual physical inventory procedures across various sites. Assisting in internal and external audits by promptly supplying necessary documents to auditors. Identifying and validating opportunities for cost reduction. Collaborating with Operations and Engineering to establish the excess and obsolete reserve for accurate financial reporting. Demonstrating the ability to discern between pertinent and extraneous information to comprehend complex scenarios. Posing the right inquiries to effectively analyze situations. Maintaining a high level of energy and productivity in uncertain and ambiguous situations. Excelling in communication with individuals at all organizational levels, various functions, cultures, and geographic locations. Employing multiple approaches persistently to arrive at the optimal solution.

Requirements for this role:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Over 5 years of Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing setting. Proficiency in working with ERP systems like Oracle, SAP, or JD Edwards. Fluent in English. Willingness and ability to travel globally, up to 10% annually. Capability to work on-site.
