Which is the main objective of this role?

PepsiCo Data Governance Program Overview:


PepsiCo is establishing a Data Governance program that will be the custodian of the processes, policies, rules, and standards by which the Company will define its most critical data.


Enabling this program will:

  • Define ownership and accountability of our critical data assets to ensure they are effectively managed and maintain integrity throughout PepsiCo's systems
  • Create global alignment for data privacy and protection standards
  • Leverage data as a strategic enterprise asset enabling databased decision analytics
  • Improve productivity and efficiency of daily business operations

Position Overview:

The Data Governance, Privacy Associate Manager will be responsible for data privacy efforts as assigned throughout North America based data projects and systems and provide strategic design recommendations for a global Data + Analytics privacy policy.

This role is responsible for representing the Data + Analytics strategic vision across their assigned sector/projects to define enterprise data privacy policies, rules, processes, and standards to ensure compliance with any applicable data privacy and protection regulations.

This role requires deep knowledge of data monitoring and verification best practices, rights management, privacy laws, and change management.


The Data Privacy Associate Manager will be a part of the global data privacy team and will partner with Data Stewardship and Data Governance teams to ensure global standards are aligned and upheld.

They will liaise with IT and Legal/Compliance teams to maintain alignment on new regulations and initiatives and will be responsible for implementing and executing global PepsiCo data privacy and protection strategy for their assigned areas.

This includes providing recommendations for and aligning on global privacy framework, key roles and responsibilities, and applicable metrics and KPIs.


What will you be doing?

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Contribute toward a global data privacy framework
  • Participate in the creation of D+A privacy policies and drive adoption across the D+A organization
  • Act as SME for designated projects/assignments
  • Research and navigate important privacy issues with stakeholders and provide technical advice, project management support and policy recommendations
  • Ensure standards are applied by all the stakeholders. Prevent or resolve conflicts by facilitating discussions across appropriate business units.
  • Provide feedback on documents with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure Data + Analytics policy is incorporated (legal experience a plus)
  • Communicate regularly with Legal and Compliance to implement and adapt to new policies
  • Stay abreast of external laws (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, LGPD)
  • Identify risks and controls related to enterprise data security changes
  • Work with Data Ecosystem team to create policies and standards for external data storage and usage and ensure adherence
  • Provide recommendations and supporting documentation for new or proposed data standards, business rules and policy (in conjunction with the Governance Council as appropriate).
