Position Title:
Commodity Manager – Interior Trim Reports to: Finance Director We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and strategic individual who is passionate about problem solving The Commodity Manager – Interior Trim will be responsible for generating and updating strategies to support sustainable cost reductions and supplier quality improvements, track and report monthly financial impacts, manage overall supplier relationships, and develop + implement continuous improvement concepts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure flow of materials is sustained for plants under the scope of responsibilityImplementation of previously planned cost savings initiatives in order to meet savings targetsDevelop new cost savings initiatives and work cross-functionally to drive closureGenerate sub-commodity strategies supporting product plans, and aligned to key stakeholdersObtaining Motus Sourcing Board approval for all new sourcing actionsLead supplier negotiations, including contract management and development agreementsForecast materials market movements and develop mitigation plans to smooth volatilityEnsure that price changes aligned to contracts, and raw material index are accurate and timelyBe recognized as the commodity expert – products, process, technology, suppliers, and economics (Index/Market Pricing)Support commodity specific data preparation and analysis for Weekly Staff Meeting, Mgt updates, and monthly Business Operating System reviewsAnalyze and intelligently execute tradeoffs between unit prices and working capitalIdentify and mitigate risks associated with responsible scope of buy – ensure supply is protectedSupport Launch Team activitiesSupport Business Development activitiesMonitor and manage Directed Suppliers (total cost management)Lead cross functional 'ideation' events that Identify new product and process applicationsLead and support selection processes for material on new product developmentIdentify and develop new suppliers that fit the strategy and required capabilitiesManage key internal stakeholders to achieve alignment on continuous improvement opportunitiesPrepare and present executive communications
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree, MBA is preferred.7-9 years' experience related to Purchasing, Materials Management or ContractsKnowledge of the automotive interior products industry.
Ability to understand raw material markets (resins, foam chemicals, etc)Understanding of PLEX ERP software a plusOutstanding communication, detail oriented, self-driven, professional written skills, and negotiation skills are essential for success in this position#J-18808-Ljbffr-
