We're looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Professional Supplier Quality Outsourcing team in Cooper Lighting Solutions, Juarez, México.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you'll be responsible for end-to-end quality relationship with allocated supply base. This role qualifies suppliers, validates, and releases products and has the responsibility to veto if necessary. You will be responsible for implementing supplier quality functional excellence initiatives in accordance with Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) approach and applicable methods.

What you'll do

  • Ensure the onboarding of the right supplier through our supplier quality onboarding process.
  • Support the project team by allocating the right supplier to the right project through the right product or component specification.
  • Ensure quality is contractually agreed with the supplier.
  • Be an integral part of the project team, support the AQP process and release the product and/or component through the applicable release process (PPAP, FAI...).
  • Execute the right problem-solving with the supplier in case of quality issues (8D, 4C...) and make sure the cost of non-quality is recovered from the supplier.

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree completed in Engineering.
  • +5 years' experience in supplier quality management ideally in a regulated industry (Automotive, Aerospace ...).
  • Knowledge of the lighting industry is desirable.
  • Confirmed experience in supplier auditing using VDA standards.
  • Green Belt Certified is MANDATORY.
  • PPAP, AQP, 8D & Problem Solving and MSA experience.
  • Experienced in both mechanical (plastic injection, die-casting, aluminum extrusion...) and Electronics (SMD process, connectors, e-components, and semi-conductors...).
  • Self-starter, capable of working in matrix teams and able to successfully interact within different teams including quality, engineering, design, manufacturing, and the supply chain.
  • Fluent in English is MANDATORY.
