The Manufacturing Technician role involves managing an Assembly Area within Cooper Lighting's Monterrey operation in Mexico. This position requires a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, including Process Management, Productivity, Maintenance, Electrical Testing, and Lean Manufacturing. Collaborating with internal teams, the incumbent aims to achieve business objectives related to Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery, and Cost efficiency.

What you will be responsible for


- Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement and implement lean manufacturing techniques to enhance productivity and meet customer expectations.
- Drive both short-term and long-term improvements to fulfill goals outlined in Value Stream Maps.
- Lead kaizen events and High-Performance Work Team activities, focusing on setup reduction, TPM, 5S, and problem-solving initiatives.
- Engage in continuous improvement projects aligned with the Six-Sigma methodology.
- Develop and execute plans to introduce new products/equipment and enhance competitiveness with the support of a Manufacturing Engineer.
- Optimize existing processes, adjust cycle times, and maximize resource utilization.
- Monitor timing, expenditure, and savings for facility Capital projects with assistance from a Manufacturing Engineer.
- Create manufacturing process instructions, Setup sheets, visual aids, and training materials for the Assembly area.
- Support root cause and failure analysis efforts, implementing corrective actions to address product/material discrepancies.
- Address Safety and Ergonomics requirements in alignment with manufacturing needs.
- Plan and carry out maintenance activities as per manufacturing necessities.

Your qualifications

 Certified technician degree.
 Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles.
 Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies (Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis).
 AutoCAD familiarity.
 Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
 Fluency in Spanish and 50% proficiency in English.
