The successful candidate will perform duties as an assignment editor and video/ multimedia producer by proactively recording, editing and producing, video, graphical and audio content for internal and external delivery. This person will work closely with other members of the Communications and Investor Relations team to meet Jabil's business and employee needs through various multimedia and video projects, ranging from features and packages to vignettes. The successful candidate for this position is attentive, creative and versatile, with a natural curiosity to learn more about Jabil's business, culture and missions. He/She must be available to travel; have excellent communication skills; and understanding in storytelling in order to develop brand-appropriate videos, podcasts and multimedia presentations. This position will help to ensure that Jabil stays on the cutting edge of multimedia technology and will routinely be engaged in pushing this technology forward.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Storytelling / Assignment Editing
- Work with top-level executives, communications staff and company employees to transform their thoughts, visions, strategies, goals and objectives into coherent narratives and vignettes
- Narratives and vignettes will influence and engage audiences on topics ranging from manufacturing best practices; social, corporate and environmental responsibility and materials technology and design
- The topics will be focused in business areas including; Healthcare and Life Sciences, Industrial and Clean Tech, Telecommunications and Computing and Storage
- Work autonomously to turn these narratives into creative and compelling storylines/ presentations, while providing a voice and human element to the topics.
- Videotape high-quality program material for production using various video camera equipment
- Make technical decisions regarding lighting, shooting angle and composition
- Ability to following the basic rules of photography and the ability to place the subject/activity intuitively in the correct frame space in relationship with other objects
- Manage video project process by assessing location, technology/equipment (renting, if necessary), and lighting needs
- Knowledge of DVD authoring, compression for web delivery, and other conversion and duplication techniques
- Passion for giving meaning to data and interpreting business strategies into engaging visual experiences
- Contributes to the Communications group's efforts to enhance the appeal of Jabil's online offerings
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of multimedia deliverables
- Visually enhance presentation materials using sound, graphics and video elements
- Animate and create interactive elements in Flash, and in HTML
- Production sound recording using various audio equipment
- Technical control of the sound recording; including set up, equalization, and level compression
- Acoustically matching dialogue for video elements with on camera interviews and performances
- Ability to edit audio clips and recordings to be used in podcasts and multimedia presentations
- Working with the marketing and communication teams to create data visualizations for thought leadership, editorial channels and strategy presentations
- Graphic design experience with strong graphic design portfolio, incorporating infographics and data visualization
- Ability to take complex ideas and make them easily understood through illustration and graphic design
- Synthesize market research data into concise, coherent storylines whose conclusions immediately address stakeholder business objectives
- Solid understanding of the fundamentals of animation.
- Demonstrated experience of timing, motion, physics, cinematography, and design.
- Motion graphics and animation experience including After Effects and/or interactive Flash animation and/or Motion.
- Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Technical Ability
- Videotape high-quality program material for production using various video camera equipment
- Manage appropriate image composition, including the ability to following the basic rules of photography and the ability to place the subject/activity intuitively in the correct frame space in relationship with other objects
- Assist with location scouting, technology/equipment (renting, if necessary), and lighting needs
- Provide consult on story ideas and technical trends in the industry
- Skill in visualizing and shooting concepts effectively
- Ability to interview subjects, as needed
- Assist in the editing and assembling of final visual/audio program material to ensure consistency and relevancy to production; monitor technical quality of end-product
- Ability to write and edit scripts for various types of multimedia and video projects
- Maintain Jabil's video and script archive
- Scriptwriting and editing
- Assist with project deliverables and resource requirements
- Implement lighting and audio technology to accomplish video projects, as needed
- Manage shot lists, local contacts and details concerning multi-location video shoots
- Work with local plant staff to provide, customize video assets (relationship management)
- Maintain a flexible work schedule in order to accommodate evening and weekend shifts and extensive global travel to on-site locations for taping
- Handle complex assignments requiring special lighting, numerous locations, creativity and special audio needs
- Mastery of digital video cameras and non-linear editing systems (Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro)
- Working knowledge of After Effects or similar motion graphics application also required
- Ability to work with various file formats
- Ability to operate various camera and audio equipment
- Ability to physically lift, carry and set-up all equipment (bend and lift up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to travel extensively, with a good driving record
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Test all equipment to determine technical quality of recording, audio and lighting apparatus prior to operation in the field
- Positive "can do spirit", energy, initiative and collaborative/team player orientation
- Ability to rapidly gather and create actionable information, and develop creative recommendations
- Organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing timelines
- Strong listening, creative thinking, and execution skills
- Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and Powerpoint) and e-mail skills required.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 3-5 years work-related experience required
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience
