In this position, you will be expected to excel in five key areas:

  • Human Centered: Dive deep into understanding your customers, demonstrating empathy and design thinking to create innovative solutions that offer significant value. Stay adaptable by evolving product strategies based on industry trends, emerging solutions, new insights, and evolving customer needs.
  • Business Focused: Develop a strong understanding of the financial aspects, external factors, and points of influence within your domain to identify new products or enhancements that generate sustainable value for Capital One. Foster a data-driven culture to inform product decisions, validate results, gain insights, and manage the business effectively.
  • Technology Driven: Foster an agile mindset and inspire teams to enhance delivery efficiency, as reflected by key agility metrics. Collaborate with Technology leaders to shape the end-state architecture and deliver secure, performant, and scalable technology solutions that resolve significant customer and business challenges.
  • Integrated Problem Solving: Champion a bold vision that drives meaningful outcomes by embracing possibilities and establishing frameworks for effective decision-making.
  • Transformational Leadership: Define a long-term product portfolio strategy aligned with customer and business needs. Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders to ensure alignment, secure resources, and overcome obstacles. Attract, nurture, empower, and motivate top product talent towards iterative, outcome-driven, and well-managed product development.

The ideal Product Leader will have a track record of building platforms, products, and teams from scratch, leading teams through technology transformations. They should possess expertise in data, platform technologies, and building modern cloud-based microservices at scale. Successful candidates will showcase strategic thinking and effective people leadership abilities, with a knack for identifying leverage points, gaining stakeholder buy-in, fostering alignment, and creatively solving challenges.

We are currently seeking candidates for various roles:

  • The Card Core Modernization: Lead the transformation journey focused on enhancing customer experience and underwriting innovation at Capital One by modernizing critical infrastructure. Drive strategic benefits by improving speed to market, leveraging real-time data, enhancing product innovation capabilities, and making strategic use of data within the Card line of business system.
  • Enterprise Products & Experience: Focus on creating a top-notch developer experience while ensuring the performance, stability, and health of Capital One's applications. Lead a product team dedicated to modernization and automation, delivering innovative products and capabilities to boost developer productivity and innovation across the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in English
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in digital product management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • MBA or Master's degree
  • Over 7 years of Agile product management experience

A significant background in translating business strategy and analysis into consumer-facing digital products for at least 7 years is essential.
