Your Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant with expertise in Lease Accounting to take charge of our lease accounting function. In this position, you will oversee lease accounting processes, handle complex lease transactions, and ensure compliance with lease accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in lease accounting, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive process improvements.



Responsibilities
  • Lead lease accounting projects and initiatives, such as lease abstraction and classification.
  • Perform complex lease transactions and entries accurately.
  • Conduct lease impairment testing and portfolio analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with lease accounting standards and regulations.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on lease accounting matters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on lease-related strategic initiatives.
  • Liaise with auditors and ensure compliance with audit requirements.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

B+ to C1 proficiency in English and native fluency in Spanish, both written and spoken.


Advanced Accounting Knowledge:

In-depth understanding of complex accounting principles and standards, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.


Journal Entry Expertise:

Proficiency in preparing and reviewing journal entries for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.


Analytical Skills:

Capability to analyze financial transactions and identify trends, anomalies, and areas for process improvement.


Problem-Solving Abilities:

Aptitude for troubleshooting discrepancies in journal entries and implementing corrective actions.


ERP Proficiency:

Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms, for managing journal entries and financial transactions.


Attention to Detail:

Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in journal entries and financial reporting.


Team Collaboration:

Ability to collaborate with other departments, auditors, and stakeholders to address journal entry-related issues and inquiries.


Preferred Technical And Professional Expertise

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting

In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP or IFRS standards, and financial reporting requirements.

Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle.

Experience in month-end and year-end closing processes.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.
