Application Support Engineer - Java

Job Description:

As an Application Support Engineer - Java, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support for Hybris Services platforms. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting, issue resolution, and collaboration with different teams to maintain the optimal performance and stability of the Hybris environment and associated Java applications. The ideal candidate should possess a strong grasp of Java-based applications, Spring, exceptional problems-solving abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced support setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Incident Management and Resolution:

  • Coordinate with vendor teams to address and resolve Level 2 and Level 3 support issues concerning the Hybris e-commerce platform and Java/J2EE applications.
  • Identify root causes of technical problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Resolve Level 4 incidents promptly, including minor enhancements.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Monitor the performance and availability of the Hybris environment and Java application on Apache, Tomcat environment.
  • Proactively detect and resolve potential performance bottlenecks and system issues.
  • Deploy performance tuning and optimization strategies.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with development, interface application, and infrastructure teams to address issues efficiently.
  • Engage in cross-functional meetings to enhance system reliability.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency enhancements.

Hybris Configuration:

  • Assist in configuring and customizing the Hybris platform based on client requirements.
  • Work with developers to implement changes and updates to the Hybris system.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of the Hybris architecture and related components.

About You

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Have at least 5 years of hands-on experience.
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Show proven expertise in supporting Java and Spring applications.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, influencing abilities, technical proficiency, and team leadership qualities.
  • Understand tools like GITHUB, Docker, and monitoring applications such as NewRelic, Dynatrace, SAP Wily Introscope, Kafka, and CI-CD.
  • Successful candidates will exhibit strong business acumen and substantial experience in resolving business issues to aid HPE's service transformation.
  • Desired: Experience in performance monitoring and tuning of Hybris applications.
