Maxeon Solar Technologies is a global leader in solar innovation.Built from 35 years of boundary-pushing solar innovation, Maxeon designs, manufactures, and sells industry-leading SunPower branded solar products.Maxeon is Powering Positive Change every day with a brilliant, passionate and driven team of more than 5,000 people globally.We push the boundaries, taking solar technology higher, faster, and farther than before.We hold ourselves to a higher standard, striving for the highest integrity, safety, and quality.We thrive together as a global team, embracing our diverse backgrounds to make a positive impact on the world.Join us in POWERING POSITIVE CHANGESUMMARY OF ROLEThe Equipment Design and Deployment Engineer are responsible to define, design, select/source and purchase for new tool platforms.Manage equipment projects and interface with external vendors/material suppliers, consultants, customers, etc. to meet project objectives and timelines.Lead equipment source inspection, installation, start-up, qualification and final acceptance tests.Innovate focusing on a tool or process step simplification and cost reduction.The EDD Engineer reports to EDD Department Manager.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEquipment design, prototyping and testEquipment programming and modification troubleshooting and repairsCreate shop drawing of electromechanical partsDrive tool design and conduct detailed design reviewsDrive equipment and vendor selection/down selectionDrive problem-solving and troubleshooting of complex capital equipmentManage and justify complex projects and lead small project teamsCollaborate with equipment vendors to ensure performance to specification, schedule and budgetDrive facility preparation, tool installation and startup at SunPower's production facilities in AsiaSupport R&D initiatives coming from US/SPSVEstablish training, tool maintenance and troubleshooting documentation and systemsManage alignment of all stakeholders, including R&D, Engineering and ProductionGenerate and manage budgets and schedulesPioneer improved business processes and methods related to Engineering/ManufacturingInnovation focuses on a tool or process step simplification and cost reductionExplore/Develop new manufacturing technologies/tools for next-generation devices and processesTemporary travel to vendors and our factories in Asia and EuropePerform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the immediate superiorRELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSGraduate in Engineering or its equivalentGood understanding of fundamentals, theories and principles of Engineering, Physics and ChemistryProficient in CAD SoftwareKnowledgeable in Rapid Prototyping method like 3D PrintingExperienced with Mechanical Design, Automation and Controls preferredMachine Programming i.e. PLC/ Visual Basic, Macro and the likes is an advantageExperienced with Furnaces, Etching, CVD, Die Testing also preferredExperienced and familiar with using statistical problem-solving methodologies such as Equipment Fingerprinting, Tool Lockdown, Design FMEA, 8D, and the likesEqual Employment Opportunity
