**NPI Sr. Engineer**Fender Musical Instruments (FMI) is looking for a New Product Engineer for our Ensenada, Mexico location. In this role, you will be Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating new product introduction programs through project management tools to achieve an effective implementation of processes and systems and assuring a successful product launch into market.An American icon, Fender was born in Southern California and has built a worldwide influence extending beyond the studio and the stage. A Fender is more than an instrument; it's a cultural symbol that resonates globally.**About the job**:- The NPI Eng Sr performs his/ her key responsibilities with autonomy, requiring minimum directions and supervision from the Manager.- Capable of leading, supervising and proving direction to technicians and Jr Engineers.- Collaborate with Product Development and R&D at early stages of product design on product specification and proof of concept (P0/P1).- Lead DFM/PFMEA efforts to assure manufacturability.- Product quotation (RFQ) and project budget.- Plan, coordinate and lead prototype (MPR) and pilot builds.- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to assure an effective product launch, at the right time, quality, cost & budget.- Assure all project documentation is delivered at the proper project phase.- Tracking quality performance into the Proto, Pilot & RTS phase (with support from Quality department)- Lead and contribute to problem solving efforts for new products introduction.- Provide technical support to team members and production personnel as required.- Guide formulation and development efforts towards federal and state regulations governing and other safety compliances.- Establish processes and procedures to optimize cost and quality of manufacturing methods.- Interface with customers (internal and external) regarding projects and customer quality issues resolution.- Work with customers and suppliers on new product development, testing and qualification.**What you need**:- Required: BA/BS in Manufacturing, Electronics, Mechanical or Industrial.- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or similar position.- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required- Accomplished guitarist preferable, with intrinsic knowledge of guitars and related products- Experience in Project Management and/ or New Product Introduction.- Proven ability to design tooling and production fixtures- Proficient in Mastercam, SolidWorks, AutoCAD software system- Knowledge of CNC G-code, troubleshooting, debugging programs- Excellent problem-solving skills- Excellent people skills- Excellent computer skills (e.g., Word/Excel/Internet)- Excellent SAP skills (or similar ERP systems)- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.- Along with a passion and love for music and Fender guitars.**About Fender Musical Instruments**:
