Your role will combine technical leadership with people management, driving quality, culture and delivery.ResponsibilitiesLead a globally distributed team building a Ceph‑focused storage solutionBuild and manage a distributed team of engineersCoach, mentor and give regular feedback to your teamContribute to engineering work and demonstrate sound engineering principlesSet reasonable schedules and manage expectations with other engineering teams and stakeholdersAdvance modern, agile software development practicesMaintain a culture of quality and engineering excellenceGrow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company valuesCollaborate with other leaders as part of the leadership teamWork from home with up to 20% travel for internal and external eventsWho you areSoftware engineering background, preferably with Python and C++ experienceExperience operating large‑scale storage clusters on Linux, preferably with CephPassion for embracing new technologies and pushing boundariesTrack record of developing and growing peopleInterest in building products that improve software and infrastructure everywhereKnowledgeable and passionate about software developmentExperience leading, coaching and mentoring developers to deliver timely, high‑quality softwareSolid experience in an agile development environmentAbout CanonicalCanonical is a pioneering tech firm that publishes Ubuntu, one of the most important open‑source projects.
