And so much more.Come break through with us.Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.Provides subject matter expertise in engineering that improves product, process and/or equipment performance (cost, quality and service) and/or advances the innovation process to enable the delivery of new products. Provides solutions for increased process selects, increased material utilization, decreased costs, and improvement to product quality by planning, organizing and implementing projects. Is a leader in obtaining fundamental process understanding and meeting the lowest cost producer objectives. Designs and analyses first generation/next generation products, processes and/or equipment in support of a new product/technology introduction. Maintains knowledge of the latest developments in their area of expertise in order to identify and document any intellectual property developed as part of a projectKey ResponsibilitiesProvides leadership in problem solving, and technical expertise, to ensure timely resolution of short-term process and equipment issues, and higher level troubleshootingProvides direction to other technicians/engineers, coaches junior engineers, and provides guidance to maintenance personnelProvides general engineering and manufacturing skills and knowledge (understands theories and fundamentals), and capable of leading projects to get to root cause of issues, and put permanent solutions in placeProvides disciplined project leadership across multiple stages of innovation for new product, process, cost reduction and capacity improvement initiativesRecommends and implements permanent solutions to long term performance issues, and improves existing and new technologies and processesDevelops and leads some areas of the manufacturing and/or technical roadmap. Documents material, process and/or equipment to protect and contribute to Intellectual Property improvementsProficient in use of statistical data analysis and DOE in process problem solving and process/product improvementIdentifies, justifies, and implements cost reduction, capacity enhancement, capital equipment and other improvement initiativesIntroduces new products and technologiesDevelops SME knowledge of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineeringTracks the effectiveness of projects and implemented cost reductions, using up-time, cost, productivity, and other appropriate measuresIs a leader and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in process control/discipline, SPC, SQC, OEE, Designed Experiments, and other Performance Excellence processes (Green and Black-belt skills)Experiences/Education - RequiredBachelor of Science or equivalent in technical fieldYellow Belt TrainingTrack record of delivering results.Broad manufacturing and engineering experiencesProject leadership (scope to implementation)Coaching and developing junior engineers/techniciansManufacturing Workshops (MPIW or equivalent)Bachelor of Science (Engineering) or Masters of Science (Engineering or Applied Science)Black belt (6 Sigma or Innovation) trainingProject and/or manufacturing financial management knowledgeKnowledge of Innovation Stage-gate processesCorning Puts YOU FirstWe are committed to supporting your health, financial, career development, and life goals as you grow professionally and personally to achieve your highest potential.
