You will be responsible for conducting account investigations, making account-level judgements, and providing support for special handling risk cases. You will be confident in looking through data, assessing various indicators, and making judgements on your findings.The right candidate for this role will ideally have some experience in fraud, preferably within ecommerce or payments, and possess a basic understanding of fraud prevention and controls.What you'll doResponsibilitiesInvestigate accounts to identify fraudulent merchants, card testing, account takeover, and other fraud vectorsConduct investigations on merchant accounts to support financial partner requirementsAssess risk factors and trends of potentially fraudulent activityHelp maintain fraud detection strategies and business rules that balance fraud loss and customer experienceContribute to root cause analysis to identify opportunities to predict, prevent, and mitigate risk within process and performanceParticipate in monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews for the Fraud Operations teamWho you areWe're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.Minimum requirementsSome experience in fraud analysis, fraud investigations, or fraud operationsExperience using data to make assessments/judgementsA team-focused mentality and effective problem solving skillsThe ability to approach challenges from a user perspective while being pragmatic & solutions orientedYou're willing to periodically work a weekend day for which you will receive a weekday off; the SDC operates during daytime hours with shifts from the morning through early eveningPreferred qualificationsFraud experience in payments, e-commerce, or fintech mitigating digital/card-not-present fraudKnowledge of fraud schemes, fraud prevention methods, and fraud detection toolsPrior fraud experience across multiple industries/verticalsExperience in a high growth technology companyExperience working from a queueOffice-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% in-office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss.
