Interior Designer

Your RoleAs a Gensler Senior Interior Designer, you will lead a creative, collaborative interior design team dedicated to producing functionally beautiful spaces for clients.Use your unique design perspective to bring new approaches to design process and strategy, develop next-generation talent, and help our clients redefine what's possible.The Senior Interior Designer will work in the interior studio on hospitality design projects, providing design leadership by giving clients an excellent service both on design and delivery, continually provide design solutions, improving design quality, represent Gensler design to clients and the design community, mentoring designers in their careers and working profitably for the firm.What You Will Do- Collaborate and lead hospitality and interiors projects, including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, and design development- Resolve complex technical and design issues- Collaborate and lead the creative interiors efforts on client projects, developing overall design concepts and design presentation strategies- Collaborate and lead interior design efforts that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentation- Develop space planning concepts and generate program documents- Advise on the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting- Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives- Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination- Provide project team coordination for the finished plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction- Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples- Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs- Mentor and provide creative direction to interior design teams- Act as the primary interior design interface with clients and consultants- Participate in business development and marketing efforts- Develop and grow significant client relationships that have an impact on the MX offices business growth.- Collaborate with team members and colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and philosophyYour Qualifications- Advanced degree in Interior Design or a related field preferred- 15+ years of experience, with at least 8 years of recent hospitality sector focused interior design experience with responsibilities as described above- Experience creating and developing overall design concepts and formulating design presentation strategies- Strong skills in client relationship management and presentation.- Strong planning abilities and have the ability to mentor team members, offer guidance and leadership.- A desire to mentor team members, offer guidance and leadership- Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications- Self-starters with good verbal and written communication skills in English.- Experience with Revit, SketchUp, AutoCad, Adobe Creative Suite and other modeling softwareLife at GenslerAt Gensler, we are as committed to enjoying life as we are to delivering best-in-class design.From curated art exhibits to internal design competitions to "Well-being Week," our offices reflect our people's diverse interests.As part of the firm's commitment to licensure and professional development, Gensler offers reimbursement for certain professional licenses and associated renewals and exam fees.In addition, we reimburse tuition for certain eligible programs or classes.We view our professional development programs as strategic investments in our futureLI-CA2
