Rockwell Automation is a global technology leader focused on helping the world's manufacturers be more productive, sustainable, and agile.With more than 28,000 employees who make the world better every day, we know we have something special.Behind our customers - amazing companies that help feed the world, provide life-saving medicine on a global scale, and focus on clean water and green mobility - our people are energized problem solvers that take pride in how the work we do changes the world for the better.We welcome all makers, forward thinkers, and problem solvers who are looking for a place to do their best work.And if that's you we would love to have you join usJob DescriptionSCOPE:Responsible for test support for new product introductions (NPI) when introduced into manufacturing, legacy test equipment, continuation engineering product changes, production support, and equipment replacement and maintenance.JOB SUMMARY:Implement and support cost-effective automated methods of testing and troubleshooting printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).The test equipment consists of electrical, electronic, mechanical measurement and controls, mechanical fixtures and test software which are used in global manufacturing facilities to produce Rockwell Automation products.The Test Engineer will work with the global and local plant environments in collaboration with design teams to achieve optimum product and test equipment designs for manufacturability.Work on issues of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires review of relevant factors.Exercise judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate action.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- You will implement with us continuous improvement, error proofing, ergonomics, yield, and other lean manufacturing projects for test equipment and processes.- You will help develop standardized work practices, documentation maintenance, and operator training for all test related processes.- Demonstrate use of Lean Six Sigma tools for test equipment qualification, test system problem solving, and identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities.- You will help perform preventative maintenance for all test equipment.Provide guidance with calibration schedules and requirements for test instrumentation.- Troubleshoot test equipment solutions in the production environment.- Identify/maintaining spare parts inventory.- Provide guidance for product repair processes and other troubleshooting tools and guides for tester/product repair.- Provide manufacturing technical support assisting in troubleshooting test systems to resolve crisis downtime situations in Rockwell Automation plants.- Participate in projects to allow the plants to meet annual productivity goals and reduce/eliminate safety and ergonomic risk in the manufacturing work environment.- Participate in the procurement, installation and validation activities with test equipment targeted for the manufacturing production.- Support to troubleshooting test software and hardware using the In-Circuit and Flying Probe standard test platforms to provide a reliable and repeatable manufacturing test system.- Demonstrate competency to develop and debug complex test approaches such as Boundary Scan, processor-controlled testing, and device programming using "In Circuit Test" test systems.EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:- Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical Engineering Technology(EET), Electrical Engineering/Computer Science (EE/CS), equivalent education, or experience.- 5+ years of experience as a test engineer contributor in a team-oriented project environment, including development of test equipment for production or experience working in an operations manufacturing environment supporting production test equipment and processes with working experience with Keysight **** In-Circuit test platforms, Takaya Flying Probe test platforms, or similar test platforms.- Mental and visual ability to troubleshoot software for complex test approaches such as Boundary Scan, processor-controlled testing, and device programming using "In Circuit Test" test systems.- Experience with Test Expert design for testability analysis tool, or similar.- Knowledge of electronic hardware.- Excellent troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.- Proficient in English.What we offer:- Transportation allowance or gas allowance.- Lunch allowance.- Complementary medical insurance.- Personal hours.- We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status.We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace._Reports to:Manager, Latin America Process OperationsLI-OnsiteLI-GR2
