-Job descriptionRole Purpose:Climate change and the broader sustainability agenda will impact CMB clients across all industries and markets at an unprecedented rate and level.This creates both significant opportunities and risk to our existing and prospective customer base, as well as for the CMB business overall.CMB is therefore committed to working with our clients to become more sustainable across climate, nature, and social/inclusion priorities, ensuring that we attain a market-leading position and achieve sizable incremental growth in this space for years to come.This role will be responsible for executing CMB Sustainability's strategic plan, identifying strategic priorities and targeted outcomes at a Regional level.The role holder will ensure the Regional CMB sustainability agenda is aligned to both CMB's global strategy and the Group's sustainability plans.In addition, the role holder will be responsible for originating transactions with our clients and establishing innovative and entrepreneurial client solutions, which fit into the overall CMB strategy.These include, for example: supply chain financing, risk recycling or distribution capabilities to drive balance sheet productivity and increasing the level of fee income.The incumbent will need to provide innovative leadership of the CMB Regional Sustainability strategy and to fully embed this into the product suite, sales and operating models.Principal Responsibilities/Accountabilities- The role holder will support the Global CMB Sustainability team to set longer term targets and levers to deliver on our net zero commitments, translating these into tangible nearer term targets and specific actions for CMB in the region supporting our client on their journey to net zero- Responsible for originating and driving international corporate growth across the region for CMB through the provision of sustainable finance solutions to our most sophisticated clients; and to new-to-bank opportunities- Capture opportunities to support our and new-to-bank clients' transition to a sustainable business model across our existing portfolio, and provide frontline teams with the products, skills and capabilities to do so effectively- Develop a sound and thoughtful marketing campaign to support growth of the business and the client base in the region- Working with the Global CMB Sustainability team and the Regional Product leads, the role holder will support the evolution of new products and propositions ensure that our sustainability product set is relevant and competitive to support customers' transition requirements, making accessible to all customer segments- Provide entrepreneurial and innovative leadership across the full Sustainability agenda across the region within CMB, including identifying relevant regional partnerships with external parties to help achieve CMB's Sustainability strategy, in collaboration with the Global CMB Sustainability team.- Partnering with the global team, bring coherence and remove fragmentation in how the CMB Sustainability Target Operating model is implemented across the region Governance and operating models.RequirementsCommittee Memberships- HSBC Regional Commercial Banking Executive Committee (member)- Global CMB Sustainability Exco and other relevant committees- Relevant Sustainability Committees for Global and RegionThe position requires at least all of the following qualifications:- More than +6 years of experience in the banking sector managing complex commercial relationships with international needs- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, accounting or related fields- Demonstrable knowledge of latest developments in Sustainable Finance and clear understanding of the areas where HSBC can utilise the Sustainability agenda as a growth accelerator- Knowledge of how CMB clients operate including CMB policies and approval procedures as per CMB FIM ( i.e. WCR process, legal process, CME, CARM)- Knowledge of banking products such as : Trade, GLCM, GB&M, and WPB products and capabilities- Experience with clients with close engagement with various stakeholders with experience of deals within the Sustainability Sector- Experience in structuring complex credit deals for clients and proven ability to deliver creative and flexible customer solutions.- Wide personal connections within the HSBC and externally (chambers of commerce and other associations)- Excellent range of communication skills, including written, verbal, and the ability to influence key stakeholders- Engage with teams to efficiently deploy projects- Interest in Climate Change and Sustainable Finance- English & Spanish spoken"At HSBC we are committed to building a culture where all employees and customers are valued regardless of their gender, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, religious belief, background or any other different personal aspect.
