The position lies within the Cash Equities in Market Operations. The job holder is responsible to support middle office activities as the primary liaison with internal and external clients. They maintain constant communication with the business and various stakeholders to ensure all market deliverables are met.This role includes managing primary objective of driving operational excellence across our business globally. Achieving this through the consolidation, simplification and continuous improvement of the process, simultaneously takes responsibility for managing operational, location and processing risk.Ensure compliance of internal guidelines, external regulations and are constantly reviewed and enhanced to continually improve the support functions offered to the operational processes and the business.The OpportunityInternational Settlements Analyst will be responsible to oversee the daily operation of International Settlements. Responsible for performs and process and complete settlements in DTC for affiliates HBEU, HBCE, HBFR, HSIEnsure that all trades are instructed to settle on a timely and accurate basis.Review the fails report daily.Reconcile daily stock record/ Depot Breaks/ Client breaks.Markets covered: Brazil, Mexico, Columbia, Peru, Chile, CanadaEntities covered: HSI (HSBC Securities USA), HBEU (HSBC Bank PLC, HBAP (HSBC Asia Pacific), HBCE (HSBC France)What you'll do:Raise SSI maintenance request on COAST for US entity.Perform reconciliation on all entities except for Asia PacificFunding for Euroclear, domestic market settlement for off cycle and failing deliver vs payment (DVP) trades.Process transaction fees and FX repatriation request.US client services supportPerform allocations for markets Brazil, Colombia, Chile and PeruProcess Pink sheets (ADP) manual instructions across all marketsProcess Claims / stock borrows lending fees / FTTs, IFTTsResponsible for fails management process.Identify potential financial risk to the bank and ensure proper resolution is achieved within the bank's guidelines.Monitor RAD Rec/Del for unmatched items throughout the dayMonitor trade statuses and proactively address any settlement issuesLiaise with Middle-Office for any trade discrepanciesPerform daily reconciliation of Cash and StocksInvestigate and resolve any discrepancies promptlyWhat you will need to succeed in the role:Demonstrate sound understanding of all Equity ProductsKnowledgeable in cross border settlementKnowledgeable in SWIFT formats to send out instructions i.e. MT564x.Able to demonstrate the mind set and maturity to operate in a fast paced environmentAbility to apply judgment to operational situations in a fast-paced environment to drive progress.Awareness and appreciation to operations risk and control and exception managementAbility to implement initiatives and work as part of a teamStrong communication skills with the ability to interact with clients/stakeholdersAttention to detail and a hands on approach to identify opportunities of process improvementFollow formal escalation framework across all aspects of Operations i.e. operational and systemic related risksStrong awareness and appreciation to operations risk and control and exception managementStrong communication skills with the ability to manage local and international relationships across the org.What additional skills will be good to have?Experience in people management is advantageous.A degree in Business or Finance would be preferred.Ability to multi-task and support multiple stakeholdersAble to work in a demanding and time sensitive environment.Hands on experience of operations processing is an advantage.Familiar working knowledge of associated technology such as ADP, GFW, DTCC (PBS, Settlement Web), Euclid/Easyway, GMG, HUB, ETP, SYN, BONY Nexen, OPAS/MPS, THOR, GSA and TLMHSBC is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and opinions count.
