This is a temporary assignment for approximately 6 months with the potential to extend further.Job Summary:The Billing Specialist role is responsible for managing client billing processes, ensuring accurate and timely invoice preparation, resolving billing discrepancies, and providing excellent customer service regarding billing inquiries.Key Responsibilities Include:- Generating and distributing accurate invoices to customers based on contracts, purchase orders, and service agreements.- Reviewing and verifying billing data for completeness and accuracy.Account Management:- Reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies related to billing and payments.- Monitoring accounts receivable and following up on outstanding invoices.Customer Support:- Responding to customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account status.- Addressing and resolving billing issues or disputes in a timely and professional manner.Record Keeping:- Maintaining organized and up-to-date billing records and documentation.- Assisting with month-end closing and reporting related to billing activities.Process Improvement:- Identifying opportunities to streamline billing processes and improve efficiency.- Collaborating with other departments to implement best practices.Compliance:- Ensuring billing practices comply with company policies and relevant regulations.Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.- Proven experience as a Billing Specialist, Billing Clerk, or similar role.- Proficiency with billing software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.- Excellent communication and customer service skills.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Knowledge of accounts receivable and general accounting principles is a plus.About The Role:This opportunity empowers every business, professional, and consumer to achieve more every day through effective billing management and exceptional customer service.The statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by associates assigned to this classification and are not intended to be a complete list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of associates so classified.Other duties may be assigned.Equal Employment Opportunity:The company is committed to providing equal employment opportunities in all employment practices.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, citizenship status, marital status, age, disability, protected veteran status, sexual orientation or any other characteristic protected by law.We will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records City & County of San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
