Ehs Engineer

**Job Summary**:**The EHS Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing safety, health, and environmental programs within the organization.They will ensure compliance with local and federal Mexican regulations, such as**Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM)**,**Secretaria of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS)**, and**Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA)**.Their mission is to create and maintain a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace.**:**Key Responsibilities**:- **Regulatory Compliance**:- **Ensure compliance with relevant**Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM)** related to health, safety, and environmental standards.**:- **Conduct internal and external audits for safety, health, and environmental compliance.**:- **Monitor compliance with regulations from**STPS**,**PROFEPA**,**SEMARNAT**, and other relevant regulatory agencies.**:- **Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification**:- **Conduct risk assessments at the workplace to identify hazards associated with processes, equipment, chemicals, etc.**:- **Develop and propose preventive and corrective measures to minimize risks and accidents.**:- **Participate in the development of emergency and evacuation plans.**:- **Training Program Development**:- **Design and implement training programs on workplace safety, hazardous materials handling, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and first aid.**:- **Train employees on safety and health-related topics, including waste management, chemical handling, and emergency procedures.**:- **Incident and Accident Investigation**:- **Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, determine root causes, and propose corrective actions.**:- **Prepare reports on accidents, occupational diseases, and environmental spills.**:- **Implement strategies to prevent recurrence of incidents and improve workplace conditions.**:- **Environmental Impact Management**:- **Oversee environmental practices, ensuring proper waste disposal, chemical handling, and reduction of pollutant emissions.**:- **Ensure compliance with**SEMARNAT** regulations and other environmental authorities.**:- **Promote sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency within the company.**:- **Safety Culture Promotion**:- **Foster active participation from employees in improving safety and health conditions.**:- **Implement strategies to increase safety awareness at all levels of the organization.**:- **Documentation and Reporting**:- **Maintain detailed records of EHS programs, audits, incidents, and training.**:- **Prepare periodic reports for management and regulatory bodies in compliance with local laws and regulations.**:- **Manage the necessary documentation for obtaining environmental and safety permits.**:- **Factory water and electricity bill management, office supplies management and repair, and factory environment maintenance.**:- **Drivers and dispatch vehicles, employee vehicles, and food management.**:- **Management of dormitories, nurses, and security guards.**:**Authorities**:- **Regulatory Compliance**:**The EHS Engineer must ensure that the company complies with all regulations and laws issued by the relevant authorities by conducting internal audits and ensuring that operations align with legal standards.**:- **Inspections and Audits**:**The EHS Engineer may need to coordinate with these authorities to facilitate inspections and audits.They may also be responsible for implementing the recommendations and corrective measures suggested by the inspectors from these entities.**:- **Reports and Documentation**:**The EHS Engineer is responsible for generating and submitting the required reports to the authorities, including reports on workplace accidents, pollutant emissions, waste management, and other aspects related to safety and the environment.**:- **Training and Awareness**:**In accordance with STPS regulations and other authorities, the EHS Engineer must train employees on occupational safety and health, as well as raise awareness about the environmental impact of their activities.**:**Risk Management**:**Qualifications**:- **Education**: Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Environmental, Safety Engineering, or related field.**:- **Advanced English** proficiency.**:- **Certifications**: Preferred certifications in**Industrial Safety** or**Occupational Health and Safety** recognized in Mexico (such as**Certified Safety Professional (CSP)** or**Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)**).**:- **Experience**: At least 2 years of experience in a similar role in the industrial or manufacturing sector.**:- **Knowledge**:- **In-depth knowledge of**Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM)** standards and**STPS** and**SEMARNAT** regulations.**:- **Experience in implementing and managing EHS management systems.**:- **Knowledge of hazardous materials handling, waste management, and emissions control.**:- **Expe
