RHI Magnesita has an amazing opportunity for Safety Engineer Jr. in Ramos Arizpe, MX

The Safety Engineer Jr. is responsible for support the site in driving best practices in the organization's health and safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with regulations.

Will work closely with plant teams to eliminate occupational health and safety risks through the development of proactive programs

This position will report to the Head of Health & Safety Mexico. The Health and Safety Professional will travel both domestically and internationally with about 5% travel time.

**The Safety Engineer Jr.'s tasks include**:

- Lead site projects and initiatives
- Provide on-site support for incident management and reporting
- Assist in Incident Investigations and Root Cause Analysis
- Monitor and ensure legal compliance, identifying gaps and developing appropriate policies, while partnering with the local sites to eliminate the potential opportunities
- Must be willing to be actively engaged to drive transformation and live the safety culture
- Align with global and regional resources, both internal and external to the company, to utilize outside expertise and new pilot programs
- Ensure EHS regulatory schedule is followed in the plant.
- Provide training and technical advice on safety and environmental protection
- Educate and help continue to develop H&S knowledge within the manufacturing plant

**About you**

Do you have:

- 2 to 4 years' experience in a Safety and Health role
- Education/ training in Occupational Safety, Environmental or relevant safety certification
- Bilingual in Spanish and English required
- Knowledge of Worker's Compensation
- Experience and practice of safety methodology or safety process knowledge
- Experience facilitating critical conversations to develop win/win solutions in high stress, fast paced and complex structures
- Professional Designation (CSP, ASP, GSP, CIH) is preferred
- Knowledge in SAP is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure with mínimal supervision
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
