Job Summary The Procurement Manager oversees the entire procurement management system within the organization. The role involves developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures, managing a team of procurement professionals, ensuring that procurement activities meet or exceed company objectives, conducting audits and performance reviews, and collaborating with other departments to drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities Procurement Strategy Develop long‑term and short‑term procurement goals. Create and implement sourcing strategies. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement. Establish and maintain supplier relationships. Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost and reliability. Ensure procurement processes align with company goals and objectives. Supplier Management Conduct supplier performance evaluations. Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers. Manage supplier relationships and address any issues that arise. Ensure suppliers meet quality and delivery standards. Evaluate potential new suppliers and maintain a diverse supplier base. Inventory Management Monitor inventory levels and forecast future needs. Optimize inventory levels to minimize costs and ensure availability. Manage relationships with third‑party logistics providers. Implement inventory control measures to prevent loss or damage. Budget and Cost Control Create and manage the procurement budget. Track and analyze procurement expenses. Identify cost‑saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce costs. Ensure all procurement activities are within budget and aligned with company financial goals. Team Management Lead and manage a team, providing guidance, feedback and support. Set goals and KPIs for team members and monitor performance. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Develop and implement training programs to keep team members updated on trends and strategies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. At least 5 years of procurement experience, including 2 years as a people manager or equivalent. Experience in import/export operations with supervisory responsibility. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, including proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to report findings and make recommendations. Strategic thinker with a test‑and‑learn approach to process improvements.
