We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant with approximately 8 years of professional tax experience to join our Finance team in Monterrey. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Mexican tax regulations and hands-on experience managing corporate tax compliance, tax reporting, and tax audits within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Mexican tax laws while supporting the company's financial and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and file monthly and annual tax returns, including IVA, ISR, withholding taxes, DIOT, and other statutory filings.
  • Ensure compliance with all SAT regulations and maintain accurate tax documentation.
  • Prepare tax provisions, accruals, and book-to-tax reconciliations.
  • Support tax refund applications and respond to tax authority inquiries and audits.
  • Monitor changes in Mexican tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors, auditors, and government authorities.
  • Work closely with Accounting, Finance, Purchasing, and Operations to ensure accurate tax treatment of transactions.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to taxation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes while maintaining compliance and minimizing risk.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification is a plus.

Professional Experience

  • Approximately 8 years of corporate tax experience, preferably within the manufacturing or automotive industry.
  • Strong experience with Mexican tax regulations, including IVA, ISR, DIOT, CFDI, electronic invoicing, and SAT compliance.
  • Proven experience handling tax audits, tax filings, tax provisions, and tax reconciliations independently.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Fluent Spanish and English (written and verbal).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing or automotive industry experience.
  • Experience working in multinational companies.
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing and international taxation is an advantage.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to optimize tax compliance processes while ensuring regulatory compliance.
