**JOB TYPE**: Freelance, Contract Position (no agencies/C2C - see notes below)- **LOCATION**: Remote - North America (TimeZone: PST/CIST | Full day overlap)- **RATE**: Our client is looking to pay $50,000 - $60,000/yr- **ESTIMATED DURATION**: 40h/week - Long term**ABOUT US**:Braintrust is the only network that gives in-demand talent all the freedom of freelance with all the benefits, community, and stability of a full-time role.As the first decentralized talent network, our revolutionary Web3 model ensures the community that relies on Braintrust to find work are the same people who own and build it through the blockchain token, BTRST.So unlike other marketplaces that take 20% to 50% of talent earnings, Braintrust allows talent to keep 100% of earnings and to vote on key changes to improve the network.Braintrust is working to change the way freelance works - for good.We've onboarded some of the world's most reputable brands and now we need a **Telephony Engineer **for one of our clients.**THE OPPORTUNITY****Must have skills**:- 2+ years of owning and delivering telephony engineering projects in the telecommunications, technology, or IT-related field- Knowledge of modern microservice architecture patterns and languages- Preferred expertise in telephony, SIP, RESTful API best practices, and knowledge of hosted VoIP ecosystem and networking technologies- Strong verbal and written communication skills- Experience presenting technical topics to a non-technical audience- Demonstrated hands-on technical and business problem-solving experience- Proven success in technical project ownership for large customer-facing projects- Demonstrated experience of developing and deploying enterprise software- Proven ability to work with teams of professionals with diverse technical and business backgroundsStrong organizational and analytical skills that include the ability to respond to changing needs and shifting priorities while minimizing project impact**Nice to have skills**:- Understanding of stateless/stateful- Ability to discern when each pattern is required Handling API calls, exceptions, and errors gracefully, with retries possible- Basic knowledge of network and request traversal process.- Good knowledge of racing issues and their prevention.- Understanding of multi-threading with HTTP requests.- Ability to follow complex logs and track very complex processes**What you'll be working on**:**About Our Client**Our client is a technology company based in Los Angeles, California.Their SaaS products are offered through their DBAs and brand names.They are financially independent and have been producing considerable profit for the past 3 years.As an early stage startup, there are incredible opportunities for growth and cutting edge innovation.The Telephony Engineer is responsible for owning and managing Aloware telephony partner integrations.This includes managing technical requirements, planning projects, and executing those projects.As a Telephony Engineer, you will have the opportunity to accelerate critical project execution and adoption of their integrated telephony products.This role lives at the intersection of their voice platform, software development, product planning, and vendor management.**ABOUT THE HIRING PROCESS**:Braintrust values the multitude of talents and perspectives that a diverse workforce brings.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, national origin, religion, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status.This is a remote position.
