Responsabilidades The Packaging Engineer position provides technical, administrative and creative support for the coordination, planning and implementation of packaging solutions for new products and improvement/modification to existing products for Mexican plants. Develop cost reduction projects and continuous improvement for direct and indirect materials. Develop package projects through design, testing, documentation and evaluation of products to meet department goals. Coordinate correct package design implementation at manufacturing areas in collaboration with multifunctional teams. Provide engineering and logistic support for product packaging from concept through production and distribution. Collaborate with engineering and procurement for proper development of new part numbers required for the launch of new products. Follow up on the execution of ECN’s generated for existing products to ensure correct and timely implementation. Create package specifications and procedures when required by plant activities. Review supplier developments to verify compliance with established requirements; approve or reject graphics or structural developments as needed. Analyze cost reduction opportunities and improvement projects that can be implemented across all Mexican plants. Requisitos Bachelor degree in Industrial Design; industrial or mechanical engineering degrees considered if experience meets criteria. 2–4 years of professional experience in packaging design, focusing on heavy and fragile products. Proficient user of ArtiosCAD and Adobe Illustrator; basic Microsoft Office and Google Docs skills. Knowledge of packaging protocols and regulations (ISTA, ASTM, TAPPI); basic knowledge of CAPE Pack and Product Data Management is a plus. Fluent in English (written and oral) with technical and business vocabulary. Strong teamwork, solid communication, proactivity, great attention to detail and precision, strong observation and analytical skills. Problem‑solving skills; willing to travel as required.
