Position Summary The Design Engineer supports the Engineering team by assisting with technical, documentation, testing, and design‑related activities. This role provides hands‑on experience in engineering processes, tools, and standards while developing foundational technical skills. Key Responsibilities Assist engineers, designers, and technicians with day‑to‑day engineering tasks. Support product and process documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports. Participate in testing, evaluation, and data collection activities. Help prepare and maintain BOMs, drawings, and technical files. Follow established engineering procedures, quality standards, and safety practices. Assist with problem‑solving activities under supervision. Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives as assigned. Learning & Development Focus Gain exposure to Watlow engineering tools, systems, and workflows. Learn basic principles of product design, testing, and manufacturing support. Develop technical communication and documentation skills. Receive coaching and mentoring from experienced engineers and designers. Required Qualifications Currently enrolled in or recently completed a technical, engineering, or related program (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or similar). Basic understanding of engineering or technical concepts. Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision. Willingness to learn and take feedback. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with CAD tools, technical drawings, or lab/testing environments (Solidworks preferred). Strong attention to detail. Computer skills (MS Office or similar tools).
