Payroll Operations SpecialistLocation: Mexico City, Department: PayrollJob Purpose:The payroll specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing, compliance with regional and state labor laws, and adherence to company policies and best practices.Key Responsibilities:1.Manage weekly, biweekly, and semi-monthly payroll, including adjustments, time sheets, expenses, and government remittances.2.Review and approve employee payroll form submissions, direct deposit details, and tax withholding elections.3.Validate time sheets and expenses in payroll to ensure all payments comply with regional and state labor laws and company pay policy.4.Process off-cycle adjustments, wage garnishments, and year-end reporting.5.Audit employee tax forms (T4, RL1, W2) for accuracy and ensure end-of-employment payments are processed correctly.6.Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend enhancements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.7.Generate payroll reports and conduct audits to ensure payroll accuracy.8.Maintain confidentiality of employee records and securely store sensitive payroll data within designated systems.Requirements:- Post-secondary education in a relevant field.- Proficiency in payroll software (UKG preferred) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.- Attention to detail and strong understanding of federal, state, and provincial payroll legislation and year-end processing.- Registration with a professional payroll association is an asset.
