**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Manage, support, and validate payments to freight carriers on a weekly basis.
- Ensure freight damage claims are addressed and accounted for in a timely manner.
- Prepare required journal entries and account reconciliations associated with freight accounting, including the allocation of specific freight expenses.
- Assist with developing and summarizing data used in calculating the inbound and outbound freight reserves.
- Process and account for cash refunds received from freight carriers.
- Assist with the resolution of freight invoice exceptions for processing by the third-party freight payment provider.
- Support other projects, initiatives and requests impacting freight accounting as needed.

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Associates degree, 6-10+ years’ experience
- Bachelor’s degree, 2-5 years’ experience

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
- Knowledge of SAP and HFM preferred
- Experience with freight companies and processes is a plus
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Self-driven with the ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Exceptional customer service skills including follow-up and follow through
