**GENERAL SUMMARY**:
The LASER Engineer works in the area of pre-fabrication. Responding directly to the Sr. Engineer responsible of the area. The LASER engineer will have to implement new products respecting lean production process in his area. He will be responsible of the Development, Introduction and support the daily operation of every components processed on the machine. The LASER Engineer is the first contact in regard for calibration and programation of the machine. The LASER Engineer is responsible to keep all tools and machines in best working condition at all times.

**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Develop LASER manufacturable components with R&D respecting LASER capability
Define tools and consumable required for great production rate of the machine
Make and maintain a list of spare parts for preventive maintenance
Support daily operation
Create and maintain the work load capacity record of the machine
Create and maintain the material flow chart related with the machine
Identify and eliminate risk of defective parts and scrap
Create and maintain an efficient KanBan area for laser components
Define a preventive maintenance schedule for tools and machines under his responsibility
Deliver for all components produced on the machine the required PPAP documentations
Keep the machine and working area safe and well organized
Optimize constantly the process and production rates
Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the department supervisor.
Performs activities related to safety.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED (FABRICATION)**:
**Bachelor degree**: Mechatronics, Mechanics, Industrial Engineering or Electro-Mechanic
Knowledge in CAD with 3D software (Catia)

**Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing**: Material Flow, KanBan, 7 Wastes, FMEA, DFM, SMED, Problem Solving, 5S.
