JOB SUMMARY
The Director Partnerships CALA drives the acquisition, strategy, and activation of travel (airlines, car hire, ride-sharing, rail & more), financial (cobrand credit cards, bank transfer relationships & more), marketing (sports, entertainment & more), and other strategic partners in the region that align with the company’s marketplace and new ventures goals. Primary focuses include growing the loyalty program member base (doubling the resident base in 5 years while tripling the number of active members) and building love & preference for Marriott Bonvoy through partnerships. The role requires solid stakeholder management and influencing skills. Executing regional strategy requires working closely with external partners and stakeholders within the continent and global Consumer Operations organization.

**This position will partner with the CALA and Global Consumer Operations teams with core accountability for**:

- Researching and scoping out partnership opportunities in CALA to expand the company’s marketplace offerings, drive profit and create engagement with Marriott Bonvoy and our brands.
- Achieving and exceeding critical annual CALA partnership, affiliated loyalty, and financial/profit goals while proactively planning strategy and tracking progress against our long-term regional vision.
- Overseeing the creation, maintenance & review of relevant partner contracts, agreements, and obligations in partnership with legal, finance, risk, and other relevant departments and in compliance with company policy (including established partner approval and governance structures) and local laws.
- Finding innovative ways to utilize partnership budgets for more significant impact and negotiating preferential agreements to save on cost and deliver greater topline or profit contributions.
- Provide leadership for the regional partnerships team, with a focus on creating a culture of innovation, performance, and collaboration across multiple geographies while collaborating with each of the functional areas in the Continent (Loyalty, Operations, Brand Marketing, Digital, Content Marketing, Performance Marketing, Sales/GSO, Consumer Insights, Revenue Management, and others)
- Provide support and pull-through for Global Partnership initiatives as needed and develop/implement localized initiatives and activations for critical markets in the continent.
- Proactively track and report on partnerships’ impact to tell a compelling value story.

**CANDIDATE PROFILE**

**Education and Experience Required**

4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, or related major and 7+ years of relevant professional partnerships experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.

OR
- 12+ years of relevant partnerships and marketing leadership experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.

**Education and Experience Preferred**
- University degree required; marketing focus preferred.
- Twelve years managerial/strategic leadership experience in partnerships and marketing
- Proven effectiveness in working with virtual teams across different geographic areas
- Experience working in a highly collaborative corporate environment with direct reports.
- Experience in the hospitality or travel industry preferred.
- Experience in leading and managing through organizational change.
- Must be able to derive insight and provide actionable recommendations for senior-level presentations and delivery
- Individual must have solid quantitative and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail, self-starter, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to handle the complexities of working with owners and stakeholders across national and cultural borders.
