We are looking for a Data Scientist to join Endeavor Insight who will deliver insights and develop new data visualizations. This role will report to the Senior Director of Research, and will collaborate with key research staff and collaborators around the world. This role is remote with hours during the Eastern Time Zone. Recent examples of our work include Mapping Poland’s Tech Sector, Where Do Unicorns Come From, and The Venture Landscape in Spain.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Uncover compelling insights from quantitative and qualitative data on founders, companies, venture capital, and markets that support Endeavor’s mission and research goals.
- Own the data analysis lifecycle across multiple projects. This includes ensuring organized and clean data sets, wrangling and integrating data from multiple sources, developing and running statistical analysis, creating new methodologies and identifying new data sources, and documenting and improving processes.
- Develop data journalism-style outputs including salient findings that support a strong narrative and novel data visualizations with a user-centric design.
- Coordinate data visualization production including collaborating with graphic and interactive designers, and managing product development by third party software developers.
- Coordinate with the Platform team on the data infrastructure and server. Be the point of contact for our teams’ collaboration on new data warehousing solutions.
- Teach and train other team members on coding, analysis, and other data science techniques.

**IDEAL CANDIDATE**
- Predictive modeling and analyzing entrepreneurial networks (e.g. closeness centrality).
- Implementing machine learning algorithms (e.g. random forest), and other econometric analysis (e.g. multivariate regression).
- Ability to update and create SQL infrastructures. Knowledgeable on piping for custom dashboards and surveys.
- Experience using GitHub and the ability to manage Endeavor Insight's GitHub account.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing complex data journalism projects with multimedia or interactive features.

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Proficiency in English (intermediate level, both oral and written).
- Proficient with managing large datasets, data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis.
- Advanced programming skills in Python for data analysis and visualization.
- Strong proficiency in SQL.
- Ability to pull large amounts of data through APIs.
- Familiarity with Flourish, Tableau, and D3 is a plus. Ability to code in HTML, Javascript and PHP would be ideal, but not required.
