**Title**: Data Scientist
**Primary Location**: Mexico (MX) - Coahuila JD Shared Services - ISG
**Function**: Data & Analytics (CA)

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Are you interested in pursuing a career in data science and analytics that supports the design and manufacture of John Deere's state-of-the-art electronics hardware? Do you have experience with SQL and at least one statistical programming language like R or Python? Are you fluent in English and Spanish, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills? If so, then this Data Scientist role in ISG-Electronic Systems in Torreón, Mexico might be the perfect opportunity for you. As a data scientist, you will
- Have the opportunity to stay up to date with the latest analytical techniques and recommend their use when necessary. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for this role, as you'll be working closely with other data scientists, data wranglers, data engineers, digital product teams, and stakeholders across John Deere's multiple electronics manufacturing and design facilities.
- Prospect for business insights and find patterns in data that could be valuable for the business.
- Communicate those derived insights and patterns, ideally through visualizations and always in business terms, for people with a passion for analytics but less experience in the methods and processes.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest analytical techniques and recommend their use where needed.
- Work closely with other data scientists, data wranglers, data engineers, digital product teams, and stakeholders in a wide variety of departments across all of John Deere’s electronics manufacturing and design facilities in Fargo, USA, Torreón, Mexico, and India.

**What Skills You Need**:

- Experience using SQL and one or more statistical programming languages (R, Python, etc.)
- Experience creating effective data visualizations.
- Understanding of various business functions
- Excellence in verbal and written communication in English and Spanish
- Ability to distill and communicate complex analytical.

**What Makes You Stand Out**:

- Strong data and analytics experience using Databricks and the Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) analytical skills, such as advanced data visualization, statistical analysis, randomized testing, predictive modeling, forecasting, optimization, and/or machine learning.
- Experience with specific ISG-Electronic Systems digital systems, databases, and tools (Electronics MES, Epicor ERP, Agile PLM)
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, ideally in an electronics facility.
- Experience with interactive tool development, especially those that empower and educate citizen developers on their own analytics journeys.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on persuasion, tact, and negotiation
- Previous or current experience in a Data Scientist / Data Wrangler / Data Engineer rol
- Demonstrated quantitative.

**Education**:

- University Degree in a Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, or Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
