**About the Role**

New Verticals is a fast-growing startup within Uber that enables consumers to get just about anything delivered through the Uber Eats. As an Operations Manager, you support our Selection and in-app Merchandising Operations and contribute to our efforts to improve the experience and growth across different categories such as grocery, convenience, and alcohol - ensuring a quality and reliable experience for consumers, merchants, and/or earners in Mexico. You will implement tools & processes to make our business operations more efficient. You will also be responsible for driving programmatic improvements on critical business goals related to merchant strategy, selection optimization, and site merchandising.

You will lead execution cross-functionally with merchandising ops, marketing, operations, product, Legal, and Sales, and supervise the online grocery industry, providing thought leadership and innovation while offering ownership and autonomy over your work as we exponentially grow this new arm of the Uber Delivery business.

**What you'll do**
- Partner with cross-functional teams to build a compelling, local app experience online through merchandise presentation (product pages, landing pages, new UX) of Mexico
- Ongoing interpretation of qualitative inputs + assessment (e.g audits + driven analyses)
- Proactively define engaging content strategies across channels
- Establish and leverage collaborative relationships with merchants and partner collaborators of Mexico
- Be a strong thought partner with Product to creative solution and influence the roadmap
- Establish digital merchandising expertise within the organization by developing standard methodologies that drive operational excellence across the consumer journey
- Builds customer-centric and product-driven selection & site merchandising strategies for Mexico
- Identifies and recommends optimizations for program execution based on customer insights, customer feedback, and assessment of business results of Mexico
- Partners with key collaborators in Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Product to assess impact and gain alignment with broader business goals
- Leads Merchandising execution including:

- Strategy: Build business plans to operate effectively for business efficiency and user experience.
- Advise New Vertical's leadership on long-term strategy and decision-making by defining critical metrics, developing dashboards, and providing strategic insights.
- Data analysis: design, implement, and automate processes to run and optimize business performance and reliability.
- Experimentation: perform analysis and experiments, proactively see opportunities for performance improvement, and find growth opportunities for the New Verticals business
- Partner management: Orchestrate and bring together the work of a wide range of cross-functional partners including Operations, Product, Finance, Account Management, Support, Policy, Communications, and Legal while driving accountability to ensure goals are met
- Ownership: identify, scope, and recommend a solution, then take ownership for delivering on the project and the outcomes, as well as keeping leadership aware of progress
- Work with Product teams to guide the development of our solutions based on business and customer needs. Project manage cross-functional work streams for key Product roll-outs across New Verticals.

**What you'll need**
- Experience in marketing, merchandising, operations, and/or strategy roles with a desire to expand abilities; experience in ecommerce, grocery, or CPG merchandising is preferred
- Advanced understanding of how site merchandising, selection, catalog, item data, and digital products work
- Understanding of Merchandising strategy, planning, and execution and the underlying technology used to deliver Merchandising experiences
- Understanding of customer, market, and industry trends and emerging challenges within Grocery and Merchandising environments
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
- Experience problem-solving and proposing outstanding solutions to complex issues
- Strong experience building and driving complex processes
- Proven track record to balance multiple critical tasks and consistently delivering.
- Strong collaboration and partner management skills - building deep, trust-based relationships with territory and cross-functional teams
- Unparalleled business judgment and critical thinking skills with the ability to use data to quickly develop strategies and make decisions
- Excel/Google Sheets proficiency.
